High Commissioner Omar met with passengers of the first repatriation flight

His Excellency Omar Abdul Razzak, High Commissioner Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary visited Bandaranaike International Airport and met with passengers of the first repatriation flight carrying 103 passengers from Colombo.

The Maldivian flight  departed from Bandaranaike International Airport at 1840 hrs on Sunday. This repatriation flight was made possible with the assistance of Sri Lankan Authorities and Ministry  of Foreign Relations of Sri Lanka for facilitating approvals and Maldivian for giving the opportunity for Maldivians to fly back home at a time where Sri Lanka was locked down as a precautionary measure in response to the global pandemic of COVID-19 virus.

Deputy High Commissioner Aslam Mohamed Shakir accompanied High Commissioner Omar to the airport.
