The Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Asim, today has met with the staff at the Embassy of Maldives in Colombo.
During the meeting held at the Embassy this afternoon, the Minister noted the role played by the Embassy in strengthening bilateral relations and forwarding the policies of the Government of Maldives.
Foreign Minister thanked the staff for their efforts and hard work and highlighted the importance of effective consular services. Since Colombo has a large number of Maldivian community, Minister stated that the Embassy staff should give priority to deliver quality consular services to them. Foreign Minister also stressed the importance of disseminating information on the developmental work undertaken by the Government and underscored the work done by the Embassies to attract potential investors and promote tourism.
Foreign Minister Dr. Asim also visited the Maldivian Education and Cultural Centre (MECC) later in the afternoon and met with the staff and teachers at the MECC.
