24 August 2016, Colombo High Commissioner Her Excellency Zahiya Zareer inaugurated the workshop to sensitize teachers working at the Maldives Education and Cultural Centre to the new Education curriculum. During the inauguration ceremony held this morning at MECC, High Commissioner Zahiya stated the importance of teachers familiarizing with the new curriculum and expressed hope that by the end of the workshop all teachers will be well versed with the new curriculum. 17 August 2016, Colombo Foreign Minister His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Asim has today launched the new website of the High Commission of Maldives in Sri Lanka. 26 July 2016, Colombo On the Occasion of the 51^st anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Maldives a Flag hoisting ceremony was held at the High Commission of Maldives today. During the ceremony held this morning at the Maldives High Commission, the flag was hoisted by High Commissioner of Maldives to Sri Lanka Her Excellency Ms. Zahiya Zareer.  After the flag hoisting, the national anthem of Maldives was played.
