Ambassador-Designate of Maldives to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Mohamed Hussain Shareef has met with the Ambassador-Designate of Russia, His Excellency Mr. Yury B. Materiy.
At the meeting held at the Embassy today, the newly appointed Ambassadors exchanged views on further enhancing the existing bilateral ties and cooperation between both countries. In this regard, the Ambassadors discussed avenues to reinforce the existing relationship especially in the areas of sports, investment and tourism.
Ambassador-Designate Yury ensured Ambassador-Designate Shareef of his disposition and commitment to work closely with the Government of Maldives to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador-Designate H. E. Mr. Mohamed Hussain Shareef was accompanied by First Secretary, Ms. Umaira Mohamed.
