Official event to mark the occasion of the 54th Independence Day of the Maldives was held at MECC on 27 July 2019, from 1600-1830 hrs. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was the Ambassador of South Africa to the Maldives Her Excellency Robina Marks.
The events consisted of musical drama, fashion show and a drill dance. All performances was done by students taking classes at MECC.
