High Commissioner Omar participated at the Press Conference held to initiate air links between Colombo International Airport, Ratmalana (CIAR) and Velana International Airport in Maldives.
At the press conference held today at the CIAR, High Commissioner highlighted on the history of air transport between Sri Lanka and Maldives and stressed that this will be very beneficial and convenient to the Maldivian community living in Sri Lanka as the majority of them lives in Dehiwala, Wellawata, Kalubowila and Mount Lavinia,

Initially, the airline will operate scheduled flights, (Dash-8 aircraft) between Sri Lanka and the Maldives (Colombo) three times a week and the frequency will be increased up to five from May 2022 onwards.
