On the Occasion of the 54th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Maldives a Flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Maldives today. During the ceremony held this morning at the Maldives Embassy, the flag was hoisted by His Excellency Omar Abdul Razzak, Ambassador of Maldives to Sri Lanka. The national anthem of Maldives was played after the flag hoisting.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Omar sent Independence Day greetings to His Excellency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, President of the Republic of Maldives and First Lady Fazna Ahmed and to all the Maldivians residing in Sri Lanka. The Ambassador also remarked on the history of Embassy and ‘Fehige’, the Official residence of the Ambassador.
The ceremony was attended by staff at Embassy of Maldives and staff at Maldives Education and Cultural Centre and also Maldivian students, and their parents residing in Sri Lanka.
